The pass is a sleight of hand used in magic tricks to control a card that is apparently inserted in the deck back on to the top of the cards. The following video is quite descriptive, it will show you a few variations and different methods to get your pinky break.

Here it is explained slowly (you can also use the finger next to your pinky instead):
